Detection Condition

• P0403 indicates an open, short to power or short to ground has occurred in one of four EGR motor coils, circuit or PCM.
• P1409 indicates Self-Test has detected an electrical malfunction in EGRVR circuit.

EGR Vacuum Regulator (EGRVR) solenoid receives a variable duty cycle signal from PCM. The higher the duty cycle, the more vacuum the solenoid diverts to the EGR valve.
