Test H: Radio Interference

NOTE: For circuit and connector identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  and CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  .
NOTE: If the Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) audio unit has been replaced with an aftermarket unit, the vehicle may not pass this test. Return the vehicle to OEM condition before performing this pinpoint test.

Verify Generator Is The Source Of Radio Interference -  Start engine. Turn radio to station where interference is present. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect generator electrical connector A-168. Start engine. Listen for interference. If interference is not detected, replace generator. See GENERATOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system for normal operation. If noise is detected, investigate audio system for possible component failure.
