Front Seat Disassembly/Assembly: Notes

WARNING:

Handling the front seat (side air bag, seat weight sensor) improperly can accidentally deploy the side air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

CAUTION:

For vehicles with the dual-stage deployment air bag system, if any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the WDS or equivalent. See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE INSPECTION & CALIBRATION .
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor.
- Replacement with a new seat weight sensor control module.
- Replacement with new passenger-side seat parts.
- Disassembly of the passenger-side seat.
For vehicles with the dual-stage deployment air bag system, if any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the WDS or equivalent. See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CONTROL MODULE INSPECTION & CALIBRATION .
- Removal of the passenger-side seat.
- Loosening and retightening of passengers seat fixing bolts.

Disassemble in the order indicated in the figure.

Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
