Fuel Charging Wiring Harness Removal/Installation - 2.3L

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - 2.3L .
  3. Disconnect the mass airflow sensor electrical connector.

  4. Disconnect the right side of the wiring harness from the engine.

  5. Detach the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor boot.

  6. Disconnect the CHT sensor electrical connector.

  7. Disconnect the PCM connector and the wiring harness clamp.

  8. Disconnect the PCM ground wire.

  9. Disconnect the ignition coil assembly electrical connector.

  10. Disconnect the water temperature sensor electrical connector.

  11. Disconnect the electric EGR (EEGR) valve electrical connector.

  12. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

  13. Disconnect the fuel injectors.

  14. Disconnect the fuel injector wiring from the fuel rail.

  15. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector and detach the connector from the bracket.

  16. Disconnect the transmission wiring harness.

  17. Disconnect the thermostat housing electrical connector.

  18. Disconnect the power steering pressure (PSP) switch electrical connector.

  19. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor wiring from the front cover.

  20. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector and the wiring from the front cover.

  21. Remove the engine wiring harness from the engine compartment.
  22. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
