Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Removal/Installation - 2.3L: Removal
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle. See LIFTING
.
- Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.

- Remove the plug for the Crankshaft Timing Peg.

- Install the special tool and turn the crankshaft pulley bolt to position the number one cylinder at top dead center.

- Install the M6 bolt (1F2012-428).
NOTE:
- A new CKP sensor must be installed when ever the old sensor is removed.
- Remove the CKP.
