NOTE:
DTC C1096 may be caused when the ABS circuit open module hydraulic pump motor is commanded ON without the valve power relay commanded ON, when using the ABS active command mode. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, CLEAR the DTCs and DRIVE the vehicle at least 10 km/h (6.25 mph). If DTC C1096 is retrieved again,See ABS PINPOINT TEST 5: DTCS C1095 AND C1096-ABS HYDRAULIC PUMP MOTOR CIRCUIT FAILURE/OPEN

For 2WD vehicles, VERIFY that the 2WD ABS module is installed. If the correct ABS module for the correct vehicle is installed, CHECK the instrument cluster for correct configuration.
