DTC P0480 - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY Check for related Service Bulletins availability. Is any related repair information available?	Yes	Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information. If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	INSPECT FAN CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION Turn the ignition switch off. Disconnect fan control module connector. Check for poor connection (damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.). Is there malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 8.
2		No	Go to the next step.
3	INSPECT FAN CONTROL MODULE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER Turn key to ON (Engine off). Measure voltage between fan control module connector terminal B and body ground. Is voltage B+?	Yes	Repair or replace harness for open, then go to Step 8.
3		No	Go to the next step.
4	INSPECT FAN CONTROL MODULE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition switch off. Check continuity between fan control module terminal B and body ground. Is there continuity?	Yes	Repair or replace harness for open, then go to Step 8.
4		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT PCM CONNECTOR FOR POOR CONNECTION Check for poor connection (damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.). Is there malfunction?	Yes	Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 8.
5		No	Go to the next step.
6	INSPECT FAN CONTROL MODULE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN Connect breakout box with PCM connected. Check continuity between fan control module terminal B and breakout box terminal 69. Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
6		No	Repair or replace harness for open, then go to Step 8.
7	INSPECT FAN CONTROL MODULE Perform fan control module inspection. (See FAN CONTROL MODULE INSPECTION ) Is fan control module okay?	Yes	Go to the next step.
7		No	Replace fan control module, then go to the next step.
8	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0480 COMPLETED Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors. Turn key to OFF then start engine. Is same DTC present?	Yes	Replace PCM, then go to the next step.
8		No	Go to the next step.
9	VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE Perform the "After Repair Procedure". (See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE .) Are any DTCs present?	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE .)
9		No	Troubleshooting completed.
