Diagnostic procedure

DTC U0073 - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY 
  • Check for related Service bulletins and/or on line repair information availability.
  • Is any repair information available?
 Yes Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
  • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
2 VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY 
  • Check for related Service Bulletins and/or on line repair information availability.
  • Is any related repair information available?
 Yes Perform repair or diagnostic according to the available repair information.
  • If the vehicle is not repaired, then go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
3 INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF TCM CONNECTOR 
  • Turn the ignition switch off.
  • Disconnect TCM connector.
  • Check for poor connection (damaged, pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.).
  • Is there any malfunction?
 Yes Repair terminal, then go to Step 8.
No Go to the next step.
4 CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
  • Check continuity between TCM connector terminal 2M and body ground.
  • Is there continuity?
 Yes Repair or replace wiring harness, then go to Step 8.
No Go to the next step.
5 CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO POWER 
  • Measure voltage between TCM connector terminal 2J and body ground.
  • Is voltage B+  ?
 Yes Repair or replace wiring harness, then go to Step 8.
No Go to the next step.
6 INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF PCM CONNECTOR 
  • Turn the ignition switch off.
  • Disconnect PCM connector.
  • Check for poor connection (damaged, pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.).
  • Is there any malfunction?
 Yes Repair terminal, then go to Step 8.
No Go to the next step.
7 CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT EACH OTHER 
  • Check continuity between PCM connector terminal 66 and 92.
  • Is there continuity?
 Yes Repair or replace wiring harness, then go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
8 VERIFY DTC U0073 DETECTED AGAIN 
  • Clear the DTC from the memory using the WDS or equivalent.
  • Turn key to OFF, then start engine.
  • Is same DTC present?
 Yes Replace PCM, then go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
9 VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE  Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No Troubleshooting completed.
