Diagnostic procedure

DTC P0037 - DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1 VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA AND DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULT HAVE BEEN RECORDED 
  • Have FREEZE FRAME DATA and DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS (HO2S heater related) been recorded?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Record FREEZE FRAME DATA and DIAGNOSTIC MONITORING TEST RESULTS on repair order, then go to the next step.
2 VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY 
  • Check for related Service Bulletins and/or online repair information availability.
  • Is any related repair information available?
Yes Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
  • If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
3 INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF HO2S (REAR, RH) CONNECTOR 
  • Turn the ignition switch off.
  • Disconnect HO2S (Rear, RH) connector.
  • Check for poor connection (damaged, pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
4 INSPECT HO2S HEATER (REAR, RH) 
  • Measure resistance between HO2S (Rear, RH) terminal C and D (part-side).
  • Is resistance within 14.1-18.9 ohms  ?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Replace the HO2S (Rear, RH), then go to Step 9.
5 INSPECT HO2S HEATER (REAR, RH) POWER CIRCUIT FOR OPEN 
  • Turn key to ON (Engine off).
  • Measure voltage between HO2S (Rear, RH) terminal C. (harness-side) and body ground.
  • Is voltage B+  ?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace harness for open circuit, then go to Step 9.
6 INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF PCM CONNECTOR 
  • Turn the ignition switch off. Disconnect PCM connector.
  • Check for poor connection (damaged, pulled-out pins, corrosion, etc.).
  • Is there any malfunction?
Yes Repair terminal, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
7 INSPECT HO2S HEATER (REAR, RH) CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND 
  • Check continuity between HO2S (Rear, RH) terminal D (harness-side) and body ground.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Repair or replace harness for short to ground, then go to Step 9.
No Go to the next step.
8 INSPECT HO2S HEATER (REAR, RH) CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN 
  • Connect breakout box with PCM connector disconnected.
  • Check continuity between HO2S (Rear, RH) terminal D (harness-side) and breakout box terminal 57.
  • Is there continuity?
Yes Go to the next step.
No Repair or replace harness for open circuit, then go to Step 9.
9 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0037 COMPLETED 
  • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
  • Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the WDS or equivalent.
  • Start engine and warm it up completely.
  • Is PENDING CODE for this DTC present?
Yes Replace PCM, then go to the next step.
No Go to the next step.
10 VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE  Yes Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No Troubleshooting completed.
