NOTE: The following test procedures are for DTCs P1512, P1516, P1518, P1519, P1520, P1537, P1549, P2004, P2006, P2008, P2014, P2070 and P2071.

INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL (IMRC) SYSTEM INSPECTION/ACTION CHART

STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	Was PCM Quick Test performed?	Yes	Go to next step.
1	Was PCM Quick Test performed?	No	Perform PCM Quick Test. See PCM QUICK TEST .
2	VISUAL INSPECTION Carefully inspect the following areas for potential concerns: IMTV valve linkage. IMTV valve return spring. Manually open and close IMTV plates at intake manifold and check for sticking or binding. Is a mechanical concern detected?	Yes	Repair as necessary. Go to next step.
2		No	Go to step 4.
3	CHECK IMTV FOR MECHANICAL OPERATION Disconnect IMTV linkage, or remove actuator assembly from manifold. Rotate IMTV plate lever fully open to fully closed, contacting both limits. Check for sticking or binding during rotation. Is a mechanical concern detected?	Yes	Clean or repair IMTV manifold. Go to step 11.
3		No	Replace IMTV actuator. Go to step 11.
4	CHECK FUNCTIONALITY OF IMTV WARNING: Keep fingers clear of mechanism. NOTE: Vehicle must be at operating temperature and at idle for a minimum of 1 minute. Key ON, Engine Running (KOER). Connect WDS or equivalent tester. Control PCM-IMTV using Output State Control. Access the PCM-IMTVM PID. Command IMTV ON then OFF. Does the IMTVM voltage value equal 2.5 volts with the IMTV OFF, and 0 volts with the IMTV ON?	Yes	GO to TEST 3: INTERMITTENT .
4		No	Go to next step.
5	CHECK FUNCTIONALITY OF IMTV WARNING: Keep fingers clear of mechanism. NOTE: Vehicle must be at operating temperature and at idle for a minimum of 1 minute. Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO). Physically monitor the IMTV actuator. Control PCM-IMTV using Output State Control. Command IMTV ON. Did the IMTV levers cycle from fully closed and remain fully open while outputs were on?	Yes	Go to step 9.
5		No	Go to next step.
6	CHECK VPWR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN IN THE HARNESS Disconnect IMTV actuator connector. Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO). Measure the voltage between IMTV actuator connector pin 2, harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10.5 volts?	Yes	Go to next step.
6		No	Repair open circuit. Go to step 11.
7	VERIFY DRIVER CIRCUIT FUNCTION Connect non-powered test lamp between IMTV actuator pin 1 and pin 2, harness side. Is the test lamp on?	Yes	Replace IMTV. Go to step 11.
7		No	Go to next step.
8	VERIFY DRIVER CIRCUIT FUNCTION Control PCM-IMTV using Output State Control. Command outputs ON. Is the test lamp on?	Yes	Replace the IMTV. Go to step 11.
8		No	Go to next step.
9	CHECK IMTV CIRCUIT FOR OPEN Key OFF. Disconnect PCM. Install Breakout Box, leave PCM disconnected. Measure the resistance between IMTV actuator connector pin 1, harness side and PCM test pin E6. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?	Yes	Go to next step.
9		No	Repair open circuit. Go to step 11.
10	CHECK IMTV CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER Key ON, Engine OFF (KOEO). Measure the voltage between IMTV actuator pin 1, harness side and ground. Is any voltage present?	Yes	Replace PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) . Go to next step.
10		No	Key OFF. Repair short circuit. Go to next step.
11	VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTCs COMPLETED Perform PCM Quick Test. See PCM QUICK TEST . Is any DTC present?	Yes	Go to applicable DTC inspection.
11		No	Troubleshooting complete.
