OBD II Drive Cycle Malfunction

NOTE: The following test procedures are for DTCs P1111.

STEP INSPECTION ACTION
1
  • Was PCM Quick Test performed? 
Yes Go to next step.
No Perform PCM Quick Test. See PCM QUICK TEST  .
2 DTC P1000: CHECK FOR OTHER DTCS
  • This test should be used only if DTC P1000 was received in Continuous Memory. Ignore any DTC P1000s in KOEO or KOER.
    NOTE:
    • DTC P1000 indicates that all of the OBD II monitors have not yet been successfully tested to clear DTC P1000.
  • Were any other DTCs received with P1000? 
Yes Repair other DTCs.
Go to applicable DTC Troubleshooting.
No Go to next step.
3 REQUEST TO CLEAR DTC P1000
  • Has the customer requested DTC P1000 be cleared from the PCM memory? 
Yes Go to next step.
No Inform customer that if the law in this state requires additional driving in order to clear DTC P1000 from the PCM memory, it must be performed before an inspection/maintenance test.
4 VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTCs COMPLETED
  • Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
  • Clear DTCs from PCM memory using WDS or equivalent tester generic OBD II function.
  • Perform PCM Quick Test. See PCM QUICK TEST  .
  • Is same DTC present? 
Yes Replace PCM.
See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) .
Repeat PCM Quick Test. See PCM QUICK TEST  .
No If any other DTC is present, go to applicable DTC inspection.
If no DTC is present, troubleshooting complete.
