Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Removal / Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Partially drain the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT -- 3.0L for 3.0L or ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT - 4.0L , for 4.0L
  3. Disconnect engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
    NOTE:
  4. Remove the ECT sensor.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Tightening torque 

    16-24 N.m { 1.6-2.4 kgf.m, 12-17 ft.lbf }
