Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor - 2.3L: Installation

CAUTION:

Only hand tighten the bolt or damage to the front cover may occur.

Install a 6 mm (0.23 in) x 18 mm (0.7 in) standard bolt.
NOTE:
- Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
Install the CKP sensor and the bolts.
NOTE:
- The CKP sensor alignment tool is supplied with the new sensor and is not available separately.
Adjust the CKP sensor alignment jig and tighten the CKP bolts.
Tightening Torque:

7 Nm {0.7 kgf-m, 62 in-lbf}
Connect the CKP sensor.

Remove the bolt.

Remove the crankshaft timing peg SST.

Install the plug.

Install the RH splash shield and the bolts.
Tightening Torque:

8 Nm {0.8 kgf-m, 71 in-lbf}
Connect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
