Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor - 2.3L: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist. See LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .

  3. Remove the five bolts and the RH splash shield.

  4. Remove the plug.

  5. Turn the crankshaft pulley bolt to position the number one cylinder at top dead center and install the crankshaft timing peg SST  .
  6. Disconnect the CKP electrical connector.
  7. Remove the CKP sensor bolts and the CKP sensor.
