Disabling Unlimited Key Mode
NOTE:
- By disabling the unlimited key mode with a random 8-digit number, the previous access code no longer operates the vehicle.
- From the IDS or equivalent tester, follow the on-screen instructions to ENTER SECURITY ACCESS. See ANTI-THEFT SECURITY ACCESS ,
- Select: "unlimited key mode OFF "and press the tick mark.
- Select: "Ignition Key Code Erase" and press the tick mark.
- Disconnect the IDS or equivalent tester and turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Insert the first PATS key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the key to the ON position for 3 seconds.
- Remove the first PATS key from the ignition lock cylinder.
- Insert the next PATS key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the key to the ON position for 3 seconds.NOTE:
- With the unlimited key mode turned off, a maximum of 8 keys can be programmed into the instrument cluster using the 09-40 KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS, page 09-40-5 procedure. The PID SPAREKEY must be enabled.
- If it is desired to program additional key(s), See KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS , for each additional key that needs to be programmed. The PID SPAREKEY must be enabled.
