Removal and Installation
- Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING
.
- Remove the 2 bolts and position the hood latch release handle aside.
- Remove the screws and the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
- Remove the 5 instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement bolts and the reinforcement panel.
- To install, tighten to 7 N-m (0.7 kgf-m, 62 in-lbf).
- Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
NOTE:
- The ignition switch should be in the OFF position.
- Remove the 2 ignition switch screws and the ignition switch.
- To install, tighten to 6 N-m (0.6 kgf-m, 53 in-lbf).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
