Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Removal / Installation - 4.0L

  1. Disconnect battery. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Partially drain the cooling system. See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT -- 4.0L .
  3. Disconnect engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  4. Remove the clip and the ETC sensor. Discard the O-ring seal.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new O-ring seal.
