Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature (MAF/IAT) Sensor Removal / Installation

CAUTION:
  • Sensing elements located in the airflow bypass are not to be tampered with.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. See BATTERY DISCONNECT .
  2. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.

  3. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet tube from the MAF sensor.

  4. Remove the four bolts and the MAF sensor.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not tamper with the MAF sensing elements located in the airflow bypass. Tampering may result in failure.
    NOTE:
    • The MAF sensor module and body are calibrated and installed as a unit.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Tightening torque 

    4-5 N.m {41-51 kgf.cm, 38-44 in.lbf}
