Pinpoint Test 8: The Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Is Out of Synchronization

PINPOINT TEST 8: THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER IS OUT OF SYNCHRONIZATION

Normal Operation
The integrated keyhead transmitters (IKTs) use a rolling code to prevent the codes from being captured by a code grabber. The system advances the counter in the IKT and in the smart junction box (SJB) every time an IKT button is pressed.
- DTC B2425 (Remote Keyless Entry Out of Synchronization) - is a continuous DTC that sets when the SJB detects the rolling counter received from an IKT is 1,024 times greater than the rolling counter stored in the module.

Possible Causes
- IKT button pressed a substantial amount of times while outside the range of the vehicle
- IKT
- SJB

NOTE: All IKTs must be present to begin diagnosis of the RKE system.
