Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Inspection

NOTE:
  • The TP sensor cannot be removed as a single unit. When replacing the TP sensor, replace it together with the throttle body as a single unit.
  1. Verify that no DTC related to APP sensor has been detected. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST .)
    • If any DTCs related to APP sensor have been detected, perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE .)
  2. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  3. Switch the ignition to ON.
  4. Verify that the TP sensor output value (PID: TP1, TP2) is as indicated in the table below according to the condition of the accelerator pedal. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST .)

Accelerator pedal is released 3.7-4.7 0.3-1.9
Accelerator pedal is depressed 0.7-2.9 4.1-4.7
