Mirror Base Installation
WARNING:
- Always wear gloves when using a utility knife. Using a utility knife with bare hands can cause injury.
- Using a utility knife, remove sealant from the base and the windshield completely.
- Clean and degrease the ceramic part of the windshield and the base.CAUTION:
- To prevent weakening of the primer adhesion, keep the bonding surface free of dirt, moisture, and grease. Do not touch the surface with your hand.
- Apply primer to the area of the adhesive for the front window glass and base.
- Apply glass primer on the windshield, and body primer on the base, then allow it to dry for approx. 20-30 min .
- Apply sealant 3 mm {0.1 in} in thickness as shown in the figure.
- Install the base to the position 5 mm {0.2 in} from the edge of the ceramic area, then press it firmly.
- Remove the excess sealant using isopropyl alcohol. Sealant hardening time
