Shift-Lock System Inspection
- Switch the ignition ON.
- Shift the selector lever to the P position.
- Inspect the shift-lock system as follows:
- If there is any malfunction, replace the shift-lock solenoid. (See SHIFT-LOCK SOLENOID INSPECTION .)
- Verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted to the R from P position when the brake pedal is not depressed.
- Verify that the selector lever can be shifted to the R from P position when the brake pedal is depressed.
- If there is any malfunction, replace the shift-lock solenoid. (See SHIFT-LOCK SOLENOID INSPECTION .)
