Shift-Lock Release System Inspection

Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
Verify that the selector lever is in the P position.
Verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted to the R from P position when the brake pedal is not depressed.
Remove the shift-lock release hole cover using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver.

Insert flathead screwdriver into the shift-lock release hole.
Verify that the selector lever can be shifted to the R from P position.
