Outer Mirror Glass Installation

NOTE:
  • Installation of the outer mirror glass can be facilitated by heating the outer mirror glass holder to approx. 50°C {90°F} to 60°C {108°F} degrees using a drier.
  • Be careful not to overheat the outer mirror, as temperatures higher than 60°C {108°F} degrees could deform it.

  1. To facilitate installation of the outer mirror glass, orient the outer mirror in the direction of arrow shown in the figure.

  2. Affix the protective tape to the position shown in the figure to prevent scratches and damage.

  3. Connect the mirror heater connectors. (with heated outer mirror)

  4. Connect the auto-dimming outer mirror connector. (with auto-dimming outer mirror)

  5. Connect the BSM indicator light connector. (with blind spot monitoring system)
    CAUTION:
    • Lightly pull the BSM indicator light connector and verify that the BSM indicator light housing cannot be pulled off. If the connection is poor, insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into position A shown in the figure and engage the connector. (with blind spot monitoring system)

  6. Press in outer mirror pins A and B in the direction of arrows shown in the figure.

  7. Align the outer mirror glass with the outer mirror in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and while pressing in the direction of arrow (2), install pin.
    CAUTION:
    • If the outer mirror moves when installing the outer mirror glass, the stay could be damaged. When installing the outer mirror glass, use both hands to press together the outer mirror glass and outer mirror.

  8. Install pins A and B in the same way as in Step  5.

  9. Connect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
