Rear Door Quarter Glass Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Fully lower the rear door glass.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  3. Remove the following parts:
    1. Power window sub switch (rear) (See POWER WINDOW SUB SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Rear door trim (See REAR DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Rear inner handle (See INNER HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the rear door weatherstrip in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure by pulling it upward.

  5. Remove service service hole cover No. 1.

  6. Disconnect the connector.

    CAUTION:
    • When removing the service hole cover, insert the remover tool so as not to damage the seal rubber.
  7. Insert a remover tool into the position shown in the figure, move it in the direction of the arrow, and detach the tabs from the rear door panel.

  8. Remove the grommet.

  9. Move service hole cover No. 2 in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it while pulling out the inner handle cable.
  10. Partially peel back the rear door glass run-channel.

  11. Apply protective tape to the edge part of the service hole cover No. 2 installation hole to prevent injury.

  12. Remove the bolts.

  13. Move the glass guide component in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and remove it from the clip.

  14. Remove the channel protector.

  15. Pull the glass guide component in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure.

  16. Move the glass guide (upper) in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and remove the glass guide (lower).

  17. Rotate the glass guide (upper) in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the figure.
  18. Remove the glass guide (upper) in the direction of arrow (4) shown in the figure.
  19. Pull out the glass guide (lower) from the service hole cover No. 2 installation hole.
  20. Slide the rear door quarter glass and quarter weatherstrip as a single unit in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

  21. Remove the rear door quarter glass and quarter weatherstrip as a single unit in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure.
  22. Peel back the quarter weatherstrip and remove the rear door quarter glass in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.

  23. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See GLASS GUIDE INSTALLATION NOTE .) (See SERVICE HOLE COVER NO. 2 INSTALLATION NOTE .)
