Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Remove the following parts.
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Glove compartment (without passenger-side knee air bag module) (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the wiring harness clip.
- Move the telematics communication unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the telematics communication unit.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the following procedure.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete global central configuration (GCC) for the telematics communication unit.
- Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
- Cancel connected vehicle maintenance mode. (See SERVICE CAUTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (US) .)
- Perform the telematics communication unit initial setting. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INITIAL SETTING .)
- Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 15 min or more.
NOTE:- It takes approx. 15 min to complete the communication processing for the telematics communication system.
