Climate Control Unit Inspection: Notes

Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the following parts:
1. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Hood release lever (See HOOD LATCH AND RELEASE LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Fuel-filler lid opener lever (See FUEL-FILLER LID OPENER AND LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Driver-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Driver-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
8. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
9. Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
10. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
11. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
12. Selector lever knob (ATX) (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
13. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

Remove the climate control unit with the connector connected. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Connect the negative battery terminal.
Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
Connect the negative (-) lead of the tester to body ground.
Insert the positive (+) lead of the tester into each climate control unit terminal and measure the voltage according to the terminal voltage table.

If there is any malfunction, inspect the parts under "Inspection item (s)".

If the parts under "Inspection item (s)" are found to be normal (except for terminal 1W), replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
For terminal 1W, first try replacing the blower fan controller. (See BLOWER FAN CONTROLLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) If there is still malfunction, replace the climate control unit. (See CLIMATE CONTROL UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
