Front Seat Back Component Removal/Installation

WARNING:
CAUTION:
  • After the front seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the front seat is reinstalled with the left/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever.
  • Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a front seat.
  • When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.
  1. Switch the ignition OFF (LOCK).
  2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  3. Remove the front seat. (See FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  4. Remove the front seat side cover. (See FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  5. For vehicles with rear foot illumination, perform the following procedure.
    1. Remove the screw.

    2. Move the rear foot illumination cover in the order of arrows (1) and (2) shown in the figure and remove the pin. (3)Remove the rear foot illumination cover. (4)Disconnect the rear foot illumination connector.

  6. Remove the fasteners. (With power seat system/with position memory system)

  7. Slide the hook in the order of arrows (1), (2), (3) shown in the figure and remove the front seat cushion trim. (Without power seat system/without position memory system)

  8. Disconnect the connectors shown in the figure.

  9. Detach the clip.
  10. Cut the band.
  11. Remove the bolts, then remove the front seat back component.

  12. Install in the reverse order of removal.
