Rear Door Glass Removal/Installation
- Fully open the rear door glass.NOTE:
- Before removing the rear door glass, the removal procedure for the rear door glass installation bolt can be facilitated by fully opening the rear door glass.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the power window subswitch. (rear) (See POWER WINDOW SUBSWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the rear door trim. (See REAR DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the service hole cover.CAUTION:
- When removing service hole cover, remove it while gradually stripping the butyl rubber. Otherwise service hole cover may be deformed.
- Remove the bolts.
- Slide the rear door glass guide in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.
- While rotating the rear door glass guide in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure, pull out the rear door glass guide and the glass run channel as a single unit from the rear door.
- Verify that the rear door glass installation bolt is in a position in which it can be removed from the service hole.NOTE:
- If the rear door glass installation bolt is not in a position in which it can be removed from the service hole, remove the rear power window motor. (See REAR POWER WINDOW MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
CAUTION:- If the bolts are removed without supporting the rear door glass, the rear door glass may fall off and be damaged. Remove the bolts while inserting your hand into the service hole to support the rear door glass.
- Insert your hand through the rear door service hole and remove the bolt while supporting the rear door glass.
- Lift the rear door glass in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, hold the upper part of the rear door glass with the other hand, shift the hand which is supporting the rear door glass from the service hole cover installation hole to the upper part of the rear door glass, then while tilting it in the direction of arrow (2), pull it towards arrow (3) and remove it from the rear door.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
