Shift-Lock Solenoid Inspection

NOTE:

The shift-lock solenoid is built into the selector lever component.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Remove the selector lever knob. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SHIFT MECHANISM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
For vehicles without the electric parking brake, remove the following parts.
1. Center console tray (See CENTER CONSOLE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Shift bezel (See SHIFT BEZEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Upper panel (See UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. CD player (See CD PLAYER REMOVAL .) (See CD PLAYER INSTALLATION .)
8. Front console (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
9. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
10. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
For vehicles with the electric parking brake, remove the following parts.
1. Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Switch panel No. 2 (See SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Front console component (See FRONT CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. Rear console bracket (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
Reconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
Verify that the voltages of each of the selector lever component terminals are as indicated in the table.
