PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  3. Access and monitor the PID/DATA monitor item EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT and simulation item EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD. (See PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION .) (See SIMULATION INSPECTION .)
  4. Verify that the EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT PID value increases linearly, while increasing the opening angle of the exhaust shutter valve using the active command mode function of EX_SHUT_VLV_DSD.
    • If the EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT PID does not increase according to the exhaust shutter valve opening angle, inspect the exhaust shutter valve. (See EXHAUST SHUTTER VALVE INSPECTION .)
    • If the EX_SHUT_VLV_ACT PID increases increase linearly according to the exhaust shutter valve opening angle, the exhaust shutter valve is normal.
