CAUTION:
- When replacing the CKP sensor, make sure there is no foreign matter on it such as metal shavings. If it is installed with foreign matter, the sensor output signal will malfunction resulting from fluctuation in magnetic flux and cause a deterioration in engine control.
- When replacing the CKP sensor with a new one, perform the CKP sensor learning value clearing procedure to clear the learning value stored in the PCM. If the stored learning value is not cleared, the engine performance may not function at its full capability. (See CKP SENSOR LEARNING VALUE CLEARING PROCEDURE .)
- Turn the steering wheel to full right lock.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the front splash shield (RH). (See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the service hole cover (installed to front under cover No. 2).
- Disconnect the CKP sensor connector.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the CKP sensor.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- When replacing the CKP sensor with a new one, clear the learning value. (See CKP SENSOR LEARNING VALUE CLEARING PROCEDURE .)
