Mirror Base Removal/Installation: Notes

Replacement part 

1. Perform the front door glass preparation. (See FRONT DOOR GLASS REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .)
3. Remove the following parts:
   1. Inner garnish (See INNER GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
   2. Power window main switch (to remove from driver's side) (See POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
   3. Power window subswitch (front) (to remove from passenger's side) (See POWER WINDOW SUBSWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
   4. Front door trim (See FRONT DOOR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
   5. Outer mirror glass. (See OUTER MIRROR GLASS REMOVAL .) (See OUTER MIRROR GLASS INSTALLATION .)
   6. Power outer mirror. (See POWER OUTER MIRROR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
   7. Upper outer mirror garnish. (See OUTER MIRROR GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
   8. Lower outer mirror garnish. (See OUTER MIRROR GARNISH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
4. Remove the following parts from the inner base.
   1. Seal rubber
   2. Screw
   3. Clip

5. Detach the inner base tabs from the cover (lower).
6. Remove the cover (lower).
7. Remove the following parts:
   Fig 1: Mirror Base And Screws With Torque Specification

   PART DESCRIPTION
   
   

   Component no.	Refer to
   (1)	Tape
   (2)	Push nut
   (3)	Screw

8. Pull out the short cord from the mirror base.
9. Remove the mirror base and cover (upper) as a single unit. (See Mirror Base Installation Note .)
10. Detach the tab.

11. Remover the cover (upper).
12. Remove the mirror base.
13. Install in the reverse order of removal.
