Activating Remote Control By Smart Phone

Verify that the vehicle is under the following conditions.
- Connected vehicle maintenance mode is canceled (See SERVICE CAUTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM [(US)] .)
- Remote transmitter that can start engine is in vehicle
- Pacemaker radio interference prevention function is off (disabled) (See SECURITY AND LOCKS-RELATED PARTS PROGRAMMING .)
- Power saving function of remote transmitter is off (disabled)
NOTE:
- For the power saving function switching method, refer to [Remote Transmitter] in the service highlights/technical guide.
Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
Activate the M-MDS and perform the following procedure.
1. Press [Start] to start the vehicle identification.
2. Press the [Toolbox] tab.
3. Press the [Work Support] icon.
4. Press [Mazda Connect].
5. Press [Run] for [Activating Remote Control by Smart Phone].
Perform [Activating Remote Control by Smart Phone] according to the directions on the M-MDS screen.
If servicing is performed after turning off (disabling) the pacemaker radio wave interference prevention function and the power saving function of the remote transmitter, turn on (enable) the functions.
