On-demand Self-test: Notes

  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. When performing the body control module (BCM) self-test, verify that the vehicle is under the following conditions.

    When performing the KOEO On-Demand self-test for Door Lock System: 

    • All doors, hood, trunk (4SD)/liftgate (5HB) are closed
    • All doors are unlocked

    When performing the KOEO On-Demand self-test for Lighting Systems: 

    • Hazard warning switch is off
    • Light switch is off
    • Rear window defogger switch is off
    • Selector lever is in position other than R (ATX)/shift lever is in position other than reverse (MTX)
  3. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
  4. Perform the vehicle identification.
  5. Perform the following procedure using the M-MDS.
    1. Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.
    2. Press the [Toolbox] tab.
    3. Press the [Diagnosis] icon.
    4. Press [On-demand self-test].
    5. Press the applicable [M-MDS display name] from the module table. (See Module table .)
    6. Press [Run] for the applicable [Self-test type] from the module table. (See Module table .)
  6. Verify DTCs following the instructions on the screen.
    • If a DTC is displayed, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
