i-STOP WARNING LIGHT (AMBER) FLASHES: Notes

I-STOP WARNING LIGHT (AMBER) FLASHES (SKYACTIV-G) DESCRIPTION AND POSSIBLE CAUSE

Troubleshooting item i-stop warning light (amber) flashes
Description
  • i-stop function is inhibited because an i-stop control system error is detected.
Possible cause i-stop component parts malfunction 
  • Detects malfunction in i-stop component part (i-stop related module detects DTC)

Without Mazda M Hybrid 
  • PCM
  • Current sensor
  • Battery malfunction (deterioration)
  • Generator malfunction (part, system, control malfunction)
  • DC-DC converter
  • DSC HU/Control Module
  • SAS control module
  • TCM (ATX)

With Mazda M Hybrid 
  • PCM
  • DC-DC converter (Mazda M Hybrid)
  • Mazda M Hybrid battery
  • Integrated starter generator (ISG) (part, system, control malfunction)
  • Electronically controlled brake unit
  • SAS control module
  • TCM
  • EPS control module
  • Body control module (BCM)

Number of times i-stop function operates exceeds assured operation amount of components (without Mazda M Hybrid) 
  • Number of times engine restart exceed limit
  • Any of following parts exceeds assured operation amount:
    • Starter relay
    • Starter

Troubleshooting item i-stop warning light (amber) flashes
Description
  • i-stop function is inhibited because an i-stop control system error is detected.

  • Detects malfunction in i-stop component part (i-stop related module detects DTC)

    • DC-DC converter (Mazda M Hybrid)
    • Mazda M Hybrid battery
