A/C Compressor Installation Note
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Mazda 3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
- Due to the high moisture-absorption characteristics of the compressor oil, it may absorb moisture if left over a long period of time thereby negatively affecting A/C operation. Drain the compressor oil and refill within 10 min. of each other.
- Be careful not to let foreign matter adhere to the thread and O-ring because the oil plug (with O-ring) removed in Step 1 is to be reused.
- Be careful not to let foreign matter get inside the oil drained in Step 2 because the oil is to be added to the compressor again.
- Remove the oil plug from the new A/C compressor and the old A/C compressor.
- Drain the oil from the new A/C compressor into a clean measuring container.
- Drain the oil from the old A/C compressor into a clean measuring container separate from the one used in Step 2.
- Compare the amount of oil drained in Step 2 with the amount of oil drained in Step 3.
- Adjust the oil drained in Step 2 so that it is the same amount as the oil drained from the old A/C compressor and add it into the new A/C compressor.COMPRESSOR OIL SPECIFICATION
