Tie-Rod End Inspection
- Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the tie-rod end. (See TIE-ROD END REPLACEMENT .)
- Inspect the tie-rod end for damage and the boot for cracks.
- If there is a malfunction, replace the tie-rod end. (See TIE-ROD END REPLACEMENT .)
- Inspect the tie-rod end for excessive play.
- If there is a malfunction, replace the tie-rod end. (See TIE-ROD END REPLACEMENT .)
- Rotate the ball joint of the tie-rod end 5 times.
- Install 2 nuts to the ball joint and measure the rotation torque of the tie-rod end using a torque wrench.

0.5-3.5 N.m {5.1-35 kgf.cm, 4.5-30 in.lbf}
- If not within the standard, replace the tie-rod end. (See TIE-ROD END REPLACEMENT .)
