DTC Inspection
Quick Check
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Perform the following procedure using the M-MDS.
- Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.
- Press the [Quick Check] tab.
- Verify DTCs following the instructions on the screen.
- If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection after recording the freeze frame data/snapshot data.
NOTE:
- Each module condition can be determined by the color of the displayed module.
- Green: No DTCs
- Red: Communication Error
- Blue: No Communication or Not Equipped
- Orange: DTC(s) exist
- Gray: DTC Not Supported
- If a module displayed in orange (DTC(s) exist) is selected, the DTCs stored in the selected module are displayed in a list.
- If the following icon is selected, the DTCs stored in all the modules are displayed in a list.
- If the following icon is selected on the DTC list screen, the freeze frame data/snapshot data relative to the applicable DTC is displayed.
On-demand Self-test
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- When performing the body control module (BCM) self-test, verify that the vehicle is under the following conditions.
When performing the KOEO On-Demand self-test for Door Lock System:
- All doors, hood, liftgate are closed
- All doors are unlocked
When performing the KOEO On-Demand self-test for Lighting Systems:
- Hazard warning switch is off
- Light switch is off
- Rear window defogger switch is off
- Selector lever is in position other than R
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Perform the following procedure using the M-MDS.
- Press [Start] for the vehicle identification.
- Press the [Toolbox] tab.
- Press the [Diagnosis] icon.
- Press [On-demand self-test].
- Press the applicable [M-MDS display name].
- Press [Run] for the applicable [Self-test type].
- Verify DTCs following the instructions on the screen.
- If a DTC is displayed, repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
