Function Inspection
- Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
- Display the PCM PIDs [EVAP_PRES] and [FTP]. (Refer to [PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION ] in the service information.) (Refer to PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)] in the service information.)
- Lift up the vehicle with the M-MDS connected.
- Remove the evaporative hose (atmosphere side) and evaporative hose (fuel tank side) connected to the charcoal canister.
- Disconnect the quick release connector (fuel tank side) connected to the pressure control valve component.
- Verify the PIDs [EVAP_PRES] and [FTP] value are as specified.FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS (STANDARD)
EVAP_PRES FTP V kPa {kgf/cm2 , psi}(1) Approx. 2.6 Approx. 0 {0, 0} (1) The fuel tank pressure displayed on the M-MDS indicates the difference between the pressure and the barometric pressure. - If the specified value can be verified, go to the next step.
- If the specified value cannot be verified, replace the PCM. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G (WITH CYLINDER DEACTIVATION)] .)
- Verify that the output voltage of the fuel tank pressure sensor (PID: EVAP_PRES) changes when pressure is applied from the quick release connector (fuel tank side).APPLIED PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS (STANDARD)
