Function Inspection

  1. Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.
  2. Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
  3. Display the PCM PIDs [EVAP_PRES] and [FTP]. (Refer to [PID/DATA MONITOR INSPECTION ] in the service information.) (Refer to PID/DATA MONITOR TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)] in the service information.)
  4. Lift up the vehicle with the M-MDS connected.
  5. Remove the evaporative hose (atmosphere side) and evaporative hose (fuel tank side) connected to the charcoal canister.
  6. Disconnect the quick release connector (fuel tank side) connected to the pressure control valve component.
  7. Verify the PIDs [EVAP_PRES] and [FTP] value are as specified.
    FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS (STANDARD)

    (1) The fuel tank pressure displayed on the M-MDS indicates the difference between the pressure and the barometric pressure.
  8. Verify that the output voltage of the fuel tank pressure sensor (PID: EVAP_PRES) changes when pressure is applied from the quick release connector (fuel tank side).
