ECT Sensor No. 2

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the front under cover No. 1 and the front under cover No. 2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No. 1 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .) (See FRONT UNDER COVER No. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
  4. Disconnect the ECT sensor No. 2 connector.
  5. Disconnect the hoses shown in the figure below.

  6. Remove the bolts shown in the figure below and remove the water pipe. (See COOLING FAN MOTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)

    CAUTION:
    • If the vise is tightened with excessive force, it could deform or damage the water pipe. When securing the water pipe in a vise, be careful not to deform or damage the water pipe.
  7. Secure the water pipe in a vise.

  8. Remove ECT sensor No. 2 using the SST with the water pipe secured using a wrench.

  9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  10. Refill the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-G 2.5T] .)
