Fuel Injection Pump: Installation

To install, reverse removal procedures. Make sure engine is at TDC of No. 1 cylinder.
CAUTION: Engine must only be turned in direction of rotation.
Rotate injection pump with Serrated Wrench (601 589 00 08 00) on injection pump camshaft until lug of regulator shows up on bore. Slip in locking gauge when in this position until gauge starts to engage. See Fig 1 .

NOTE: As soon as the injection pump is installed and tightened, remove locking gauge. If this isn't done there's a risk of damaging the injection pump.

NOTE: When starting engine, injection system is automatically bled.
Check start of delivery and set start injection if necessary. Install vacuum control unit and set.
