On-Board Diagnostic Readout System

Various components of the CIS-E injection system are checked by a microprocessor in the control unit. The failure codes are transmitted by the lambda measuring circuit of the diagnostic socket and are displayed on the Bosch On-Off Ratio Tester (KDJE-P600 ) or Impulse Counter (124 589 19 21 00 ). California models have an on-board test connector, located in engine compartment, equipped with Light Emitting Diode (LED) and push button to activate or flash trouble codes. See Fig 1 .
