Code 10, Idle Speed Contact

  1. Turn ignition "OFF". Unplug CIS-E control unit connector and EZL ignition control module connector (terminals marked 1-4). Connect ohmmeter between sockets No. 2 and 13 on socket box. Resistance should be less than one ohm. Depress accelerator pedal, resistance reading should show infinity. If not, check idle speed contact or wiring circuit.
  2. Unplug throttle valve switch. Connect ohmmeter between terminals No. one and 2 of throttle switch. Resistance should be less than one ohm. Open throttle valve, resistance reading should show infinity. If not, adjust or replace throttle valve switch.
  3. Check wiring harness. Connect ohmmeter between socket No. 13 on socket box and terminal No. one of wiring harness terminal. Connect ohmmeter between wiring harness terminal No. 2 and ground. Both should have a resistance of less than one ohm. If not, check for open circuit.
