EGR Valve

  1. Apply vacuum (8 in. Hg) to EGR vacuum hose fitting. Release vacuum, closing of EGR valve should be audible. This also may be felt by hand. Replace valve if not operating correctly.
  2. Run engine at idle. Apply vacuum (8 in. Hg) to EGR valve. Engine should run rough as valve opens. If not replace EGR valve.
