Locking Vehicle Using Remote Transmitter Inoperative

Lock vehicle using remote transmitter. All doors, fuel door and trunk should lock within 3 seconds. If vehicle does not lock and pump in PSE control module does not run, check the following as possible cause and repair as necessary:

• Using Hand-Held Tester (965 589 00 01 00), check PSE control module version coding.
• Suspect faulty PSE control module.

If vehicle does not lock and pump in PSE control module runs, check the following as possible cause and repair as necessary:

• Retrieve keyless entry system DTCs. See KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
• Perform central locking vacuum TEST 2: CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM VACUUM CHECK. See CENTRAL LOCKING under VACUUM SYSTEM TESTS .
• Perform pneumatic system vacuum TEST 1: CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM VACUUM SUPPLY (DRIVER'S DOOR). See PNEUMATIC SYSTEM EQUIPMENT under VACUUM SYSTEM TESTS .
• Perform pneumatic system vacuum TEST 3: CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM VACUUM SUPPLY (PASSENGER'S DOOR, REAR DOORS & TRUNK LID LOCK). See PNEUMATIC SYSTEM EQUIPMENT under VACUUM SYSTEM TESTS .
• Perform pneumatic system vacuum TEST 5: CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM VACUUM SUPPLY (TRUNK LID LOCK). See PNEUMATIC SYSTEM EQUIPMENT under VACUUM SYSTEM TESTS .
• Perform pneumatic system vacuum TEST 7: CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM VACUUM SUPPLY (FUEL DOOR). See PNEUMATIC SYSTEM EQUIPMENT under VACUUM SYSTEM TESTS .
