Test 12: Left Front Axle VSS Sensor Output

  1. Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to traction control module. See Figure, Figure or Figure. Raise and support front of vehicle. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check voltage between terminals No. 57 and 77 at breakout box while rotating left front tire by hand faster than one revolution per second. Greater than 3 volts (AC) should exist. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect traction control module, leaving wiring harness connected to breakout box. Check resistance between terminals No. 1 and 57 at breakout box. Greater than 5 ohms should exist. If resistance is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay check other connected control modules. Check left front axle VSS sensor. Perform TEST 11: LEFT FRONT AXLE VSS SENSOR INTERNAL/INSULATION RESISTANCE.
