Test 18: Left Rear Axle VSS Sensor (With ASR Or ETS)
- Using Adapter (202 589 03 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to traction control module. See Figure, Figure or Figure. Raise and support rear of vehicle. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check voltage between terminals No. 3 and 57 at breakout box while rotating left rear tire by hand at a speed greater than one revolution per second. Greater than 3 volts (AC) voltage should exist. If voltage is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect traction control module, leaving wiring harness connected to breakout box. Check resistance between terminals No. 3 and 57 at breakout box. Greater than 5 ohms should exist. If resistance is not as specified, check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If wiring is okay check other connected control modules. Check left rear axle VSS sensor. Perform TEST 15: REAR AXLE VSS SENSOR INTERNAL/INSULATION RESISTANCE (ABS ONLY) and TEST 16: LEFT REAR AXLE VSS SENSOR INTERNAL/INSULATION RESISTANCE (WITH ASR OR ETS).
