Test 7: Vehicle Speed Signal

  1. Using Harness Adapter (210 589 01 63 00), connect Breakout Box (129 589 00 21 00) to combination control module. Measure voltage between ground and terminals No. 74 at breakout box. Rotate left front wheel approximately one turn per second. If approximately 5 volts AC exists, vehicle speed signal is okay at this time. If approximately 5 volts AC does not exist, check the following and repair as necessary:
    • Check wiring.
    • If vehicle is equipped with Acceleration Slip Regulation ASR) and Speed-Sensitive Power Steering (SPS), check ASR/SPS control module.
    • On vehicle is equipped with Electronic Traction System (ETS) and Speed-Sensitive Power Steering (SPS), check ETS/SPS control module.
