Remove/install windshield - AR67.10-P-1000GH

REMOVING Remove    
1 Prepare glue cartridge   AR67.10-P-1000-07P 
    Repair kit *BR00.45-Z-1015-02A 
2 Remove inside rearview mirror IMPORTANT Up to VIN A145272 and VIN X708318. AR68.40-P-0001GH
    IMPORTANT As of VIN A145273 and VIN X708319. AR68.40-P-0001GI
3 Remove sun visors   AR68.60-P-5480GH
4 Remove paneling on A-pillars on left and right   AR68.30-P-4050GH
5 Remove front overhead control panel.   AR82.20-P-1100GH
6 Remove wiper arms   AR82.30-P-6100GH
7 Remove air intake cover   AR83.25-P-1405GH
DANGER Risk of injury  from slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and from glass splinters when cutting out bonded windows Always interrupt air supply when inserting or removing blade.
Wear protective gloves and protective glasses.

8 Cut windshield out with cutting blade NOTES Proceed with caution in order not to damage vehicle identification number below windshield. AR67.10-P-1000-01GH

9 Remove windshield from body with suction cups COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction cup *WE58.40-Z-1029-11A 
10 Cut off remaining adhesive material on body flange and remove loose residues IMPORTANT Not more than 2 mm of glue must remain.  
INSTALLING Install     
11 Prepare body flange NOTES If body flange is damaged or residual adhesive material in bonded area is missing, apply primer and paint by dabbing. Apply Beta Primer onto paint or points without residual bonding material and allow to dry for 8-10 minutes. Wear suitable hand protection. If the remaining glue (cut glue bead) is older than 24 hours, apply Beta primer to remaining glue. *BR00.45-Z-1052-02A 
12 Prepare windshield for installation   AR67.10-P-1000-03P 
    Primer BETAPRIME 5404 *BR00.45-Z-1052-02A 
13 Inspect alignment of windshield in relation to body flange IMPORTANT Align windshield in body opening with trim surround as gage (if trim surround is used, this ensures correct clearance and correct alignment of windshield).  
14 Glue strips of adhesive tape onto windshield/ body at top and bottom and cut through along trim surround IMPORTANT Installation aid (cover for cutting edges of cut adhesive tape)
NOTES This serves to prevent any damage to the paintwork and frame.
 
15 Remove windshield with suction cups COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE TOOLS Suction cup *WE58.40-Z-1029-11A 
16 Open window in driver's door NOTES This prevents the windshield from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when a door is closed before the bond has completely cured.  
17 Guide glue cartridge nozzle along glue residue on body flange while pressing glue out uniformly NOTES The windshield must be put on within 10 minutes in order to achieve a good adhesion.
IMPORTANT Height of adhesive bead approx. 13 mm

18 With the aid of a second person, position the windshield onto strip of adhesive tape (match up), mount on bead and press on until the windshield makes proper contact IMPORTANT The curing time, calculated from installation of the windshield, is approx. 1 hour. The rain test can be performed after the installation work.
